Carnitas NFP

Ingredients

Turkey, Water, Sea Salt, Tapioca Starch, Dehydrated Garlic, Dehydrated Onion, Brown Sugar, Ground Cumin Seed, Fruit Juice for color, Black Pepper, Oregano.

Preparation

Stove Top (preferred method)

  1. Heat a medium sized skillet over medium heat. Remove the carnitas from all packaging and place in skillet with 1/8 cup of water or broth & cover. Heat for 5-7 minutes or until the core temperature reaches a minimum of 165 degrees.
  2. Uncover and separate turkey carnitas with two forks, spreading evenly across the skillet.
  3. Continue to brown the meat uncovered until desired crispiness is reached, approximately 2 minutes (optional).
  4. Serve and enjoy!

Conventional Oven

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Carefully remove the carnitas from all packaging and place in an oven safe pan with 1/8 cup water or broth.
  3. Cover with aluminum foil, place on the middle rack in the oven and heat for 15-25 minutes, or until the core temperature reaches a minimum of 165 degrees.
  4. Uncover and separate the turkey carnitas with two forks, spreading evenly across your pan.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
