Grilling Diestel Smoked Turkey Drumsticks

Ingredients

  • 5 Diestel smoked turkey drumsticks (thawed if frozen)
  • Cooking oil (optional)
  • 1/3 cup BBQ sauce or glaze (optional)

Directions

Preheat the Grill

  1. Heat your grill to medium heat (about 300–350°F / 150–175°C).
  2. If using charcoal, arrange coals for indirect heat (coals on one side, turkey on the other).

Prep the Drumsticks

  1. Since they’re already smoked and cooked, you're just reheating.
  2. Lightly brush with oil or BBQ sauce, if desired, for flavor and moisture.
  3. Let them sit at room temp for 15–20 minutes before grilling for more even heating.

Grill the Drumsticks

  1. Place drumsticks on the indirect heat side of the grill.
  2. Cover the grill and cook for 25–35 minutes, turning occasionally to avoid burning. 
  3. If you're using BBQ sauce, apply it during the last 5–10 minutes to prevent burning.

Rest & Serve

  1. Remove from grill, let rest for 5–10 minutes.
  2. Serve hot with your favorite sides like grilled veggies, baked beans, or cornbread.
