Regenerative Turkey is the Nutritional MVP

Regenerative Turkey is the Nutritional MVP

We’ve all been trained to flip over a package and look at the "Big Three" macros: Calories, Protein, and Fat. While those are important for hitting your daily targets, they only tell a fraction of the story.

Think of macros like the "bricks" of your house they provide the structure. But micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants) are the electrical wiring and the plumbing. You can have a house full of bricks, but without the wiring, the lights don't turn on.

In our latest nutrient density testing with Utah State, we looked past the macros to see what’s actually happening inside our regenerative turkeys compared with typical, store-bought turkeys.

We suspected our regenerative birds would be high achievers- because why wouldn’t living on healthier soil, and eating healthier feed result in a healthier bird?  So we’ve been very excited to see the data, and have science show us this wasn’t just a hunch.

The Hidden Power of Micronutrients

Most commodity turkey is raised on a standardized diet in a highly controlled environment. They get the basic nutrients they need, but they are pushed to grow quickly and miss out on the diversity of the natural world without ever accessing the outdoors.

Our regenerative birds eat regeneratively sourced feed and have access to pastures that are actively regenerating. This means the feed they’re consuming is significantly more nutritionally dense (and we increase our regenerative impact). A little fun fact, turkeys are opportunistic and active foragers which allow the birds to act as bioconcentrators. A bioconcentrator is an animal that gathers and builds up high levels of beneficial compounds from its environment—like the vitamins and antioxidants found in pasture plants—and stores them in its own tissues, packing their meat with the micronutrients our bodies crave:

  • Energy on Tap: Our regenerative birds tested with 25–70% more B-vitamins than commodity turkey. These are all critical for energy metabolism, nervous system support, blood health, and stress resilience.
  • Built-in Protection: We found 2-3x more antioxidants in our birds. These aren’t macros you'll find on a standard label, but it's a powerful tool your body uses to fight inflammation and oxidative stress.
  • Smart Fats: Our regenerative birds have less saturated & monounsaturated fats, but beyond this "total fat" metric, our turkeys are richer in omega-3s, have a higher beneficial Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), and a better omega-6:3 ratio, telling your metabolism to stay sharp and your heart to stay healthy.

Why It Matters for our bodies

Consider your next meal as fuel vs food. We aren't just eating to "not be hungry." We are eating to provide our bodies with the specialized tools it needs for daily life.

This isn’t a battle of micro vs. macro nutrients – we still need protein, carbohydrates, sugars and fats, but micronutrients are equally important when considering our long-term health.
