Pulled BBQ Turkey

Pulled BBQ Turkey Crockpot Style

“Just turn it on and forget about it! This makes a great dinner, and snack with the leftovers, after being in class all day away at college,” says Garrett Diestel.

Recipe type: Dinner
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 8 hours
Serves: 12-16

  • About 5-7 lbs. Diestel Turkey Boneless, Skinless Thighs
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 5 gloves garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp red pepper flakes, or more for more “heat”
  • 1/4 tsp liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Crockpot Directions:

  1. Place turkey in crockpot.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients in a medium bowl; mix and pour over turkey.
  3. Cover, cook on LOW for 8 hours.
  4. Remove turkey from crockpot, shred with 2 forks. Combine turkey with 1 cup of sauce from the crockpot. Spoon turkey and sauce into wraps or French rolls.

Layer turkey in warm tortillas with black beans, chopped onions, tomatoes, avocado, sour cream, shredded lettuce and cabbage. Fold like a burrito.

Top with additional sauce, if desired. Enjoy!
