But we can guarantee a juicy and moist burger that will be the crown jewel of your dinner party. Give it a go and holler when you too have found the top tom of burger recipes.

Recipe type: Dinner
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 2 avocados divided
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 3 Tbsp plus ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 4 tsp Sriracha, divided
  • 1½ tsp kosher salt, plus more
  • ½ medium red onion, divided
  • 1 lb. Diestel ground turkey
  • 3 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, divided,
  • 3 cups very thinly sliced red cabbage
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lime juice, divided
  • 4 hamburger buns toasted

Directions

  1. Mash half of 1 avocado with a fork in a medium bowl until smooth (reserve remaining half for topping burger). Add Worcestershire, garlic powder, cumin, 3 Tbsp. mayonnaise, 2 tsp. Sriracha, and 1½ tsp. salt. Grate half of the onion (to clarify that’s: half of the half, or one-quarter of the whole) on the medium holes of a box grater into bowl. Mix with a fork to combine. Add turkey and mix thoroughly (the meat will feel very wet, which is soooo OK).
  2. Drizzle 1 Tbsp. oil on a large plate,  form and place 4 turkey patties on the oiled plate. Chill, uncovered, for about 10 minutes. (pro tip: it is tempting to skip this step – but just don’t.)
  3. While waiting on those turkey burgers, slice remaining 1½ avocados and set aside, stir remaining ½ cup mayonnaise and 2 tsp. Sriracha in a small bowl and season with a pinch of salt, set aside. Then thinly slice remaining onion, 2 Tbsp fresh lime juice, 1 Tbsp oil and toss with sliced cabbage in a medium bowl, season with salt to taste and set aside.
  4. Heat 1 Tbsp. oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium. One by one, carefully slide patties off plate into skillet. Cook, (you may lift edges of patties to prevent sticking but resist the urge to press down on the patties, until dark brown in color) about 5 minutes. Flip and cook on second side until burgers are fully cooked, about 5 minutes more. Remove from heat as to not over-cook!
  5. Time for assembly. Spread the siracha mayo among your buns (top and bottom), spreading to edges. Place patties on bottom buns, then shingle avocado slices over. Generously atop your burger with slaw and get ready for the most, juicy burger ever.
