Hosting Tip #5: What To Do With All Those Leftovers

Posts Friday, October 9th

Open your fridge and what do you see? Leftover turkey? No. Unlimited possibility. We’ve literally spent our lives thinking about turkey (and, well, eating turkey), so we know a thing or two about mixing it up and keeping fowl fun all year round. You’ll be out of leftovers before you know it. (How sad is that?)

So much turkey and so many tasty options.

1. Mexican Turkey Soup

After a big day of Thanksgiving indulgence, it’s not uncommon to want to slow things down. Real slow. If that sounds like you, then this slow cooker recipe is for you, too. A little flavor fiesta is closer than you think; you’re just 6-8 hours (and a can of beans) away from a totally new take on your tastetacular turkey.

2. Black Bean Turkey Enchiladas

A little heat takes things up a notch (and they give your digestion a little kick, too). Chiles and jalapenos make for an excellent enchilada, and if you want to go Mexican a Mexican, pair them with our Mexican Turkey Soup.

3. Hearty Minestrone Soup

Yearning for something with a little less heat? Crank up your favorite Italian concerto, and you’ll have the perfect soundtrack for, you guessed it, Hearty Minestrone Soup. It’s an easy (and delicioso) way to use up turkey and get some vegetables in, too. Win win!

4. Almond & Cranberry Turkey Salad

Did somebody say vegetables? That’s got us thinking salad. And not just any salad, but Almond & Cranberry Turkey Salad. It’s got the crunch of nuts, the siren’s song of cranberry, and enough savory flavor to make you wish you had more turkey to work with. (Your wish is our command, by the way.)

Lastly, if you’re thinking about getting back into your workout schedule after Thanksgiving, consider making some turkey bone broth!

With that, may the leftover-athon commence!

After tomorrow, there will be only 364 days left until next Thanksgiving. As far as we’re concerned, that’s 364 days too long to wait for your next bite of bird.
